Boulder Mountain Fire will soon begin construction of a new fire station that will replace Station 2, which supports our entire district. We invite all residents to join us for a groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday, July 31, at 10:00 am. The celebration will include a few speakers, a shovel turning, refreshments, renderings of the new station, and fire engine tours. It’s an event for the whole family! The address is 50 Overlook Lane, in Boulder Heights. We hope to see you there!
Coming Soon -- A New Station 2
Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District will soon begin construction on a new fire station to replace Station 2, which is in Boulder Heights. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be sharing lots of information about the new station, including what it will look like, its features, and how it will be paid for. Fire Restrictions Rescinded for Boulder County
On December 2, 2020, the Boulder County Sheriff rescinded the Level 2 Fire Restrictions for Boulder County, which had been in effect since the summer. Residents are reminded that although the fire restrictions are not in effect, there are still permit requirements in place for slash burning. Permits are available online at: www.bouldercounty.org/safety/fire/burn-permits/.
Information About the Lefthand Canyon and CalWood Fires
The CalWood Fire started on Saturday, October 17, around noon, and the Lefthand Canyon fire began the following afternoon. Boulder Mountain Fire has had crews out 24 hours a day since the CalWood Fire began, in order to protect our district. We will continue to proactively monitor and be ready to respond until the threat is over. (The Lefthand Canyon Fire was 100% contained on October 22. The CalWood Fire was 100% contained on November 14.)
